Briarhollow - Run 1
Some places disappear because everyone leaves. Others disappear as something that should not wake up is stirring again.
Briarhollow is a small, declining town in northern England, surrounded by moorland, woods and persistent mist. The ironworks that once sustained it stands empty. The church is closed, the graveyard is overgrown, and each year more young people leave for lives elsewhere. Those who remain are the ones bound to the secrets of the town.
Briarhollow has always existed close to another world. Once, mortals understood how to live beside them. Promises were kept, boundaries respected and proper offerings made. Over the generations, those customs became children’s stories, and the stories were slowly forgotten. But the faerie does not disappear just because it was forgotten.
Now the boundary between worlds is failing. Dreams spill into waking life. Beneath the town, something ancient stirs among the thorns.
Six mortals find themselves bound to six fae beings, each connection shaped by an old wound, an unfulfilled promise or a choice whose consequences have not yet ended. They must uncover what happened to Briarhollow, what their families did to preserve it, and what price was quietly passed down to those who came after.
Saving the town may be possible. But faerie has never given anything for free.
Briarhollow is a 12-player dyadic larp, and the style is interpersonal drama and impossible choices. In it, 12 characters are gathered by fate to make choices that will determine the fate of the town. Briarhollow is a one-day LARP.
